How to read and export wide Markdown tables

Read wide Markdown tables without losing columns: check alignment and long cells, then export to PDF without clipping. Uses a real requirements table.

How do you read a wide Markdown table?

The rendering corpus includes a table and the Project Reading Kit uses tables for project questions. For a wider check, add columns for requirement, owner, evidence, status and open issue. A column should help the reader decide something; repeating prose across ten columns makes a table harder to inspect.

In GitHub-flavored Markdown, a separator row such as | --- | --- | distinguishes headers from body cells. Escape a literal pipe inside a cell as \|. If a table displays as ordinary lines, inspect the source syntax first. If it renders but runs off the page, check horizontal scrolling, cell wrapping and whether the headings remain understandable.

How do you export a wide table to PDF?

PDF pagination can split a wide table or shrink it until text is unreadable. Export a copy and inspect every page, including rows near page breaks. Record the output size and renderer version when reporting an issue. A successful export command is not a visual QA result.

Aero Markdown’s Mac app has table rendering and PDF export in its codebase, but download is not yet public. The online reader can show a table in your browser now; it is a narrower tool and does not certify a PDF. For a complete handoff, use the documentation checklist.
