The document after the conversation
A coding agent can leave more than a code change behind. A plan explains what it intends to do. A report records what it found. A README describes how the project fits together.
Once those documents are saved as Markdown, they are files on your Mac. Reading them is a separate task from following the conversation that produced them. You may want to move between headings, compare a paragraph with a code block, or follow a link to a supporting note.
Aero Markdown gives those local files a rendered page, a file tree, and a heading outline. There is no assistant or model call inside the reader.
Open the folder, then read the document
Start with the folder where the agent saved its work. Open it in Aero Markdown, choose the plan or report, and use the outline to understand its structure before reading individual sections.
A relative link to another document inside that folder opens in the same app. Back and Forward remember your place. The documents remain where the tool wrote them; reading does not require a second library or a cloud account.
If you want to try the pattern first, download the sample documentation folder. It includes a README, architecture notes, and relative links between six files.
A changing file is different from a new file
Aero Markdown watches the open document. With Reload documents when they change enabled, a change saved to that file reloads the page at the current heading, provided you have no unsaved edits.
That applies when Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, another editor, or another local tool rewrites the open file. If you also have edits, Aero Markdown keeps them and reports that the file changed on disk. You decide when to reload.
A different file is a different case. Watching plan.md does not make a newly written report.md open itself.
Decide whether you want local hooks
The optional Copy Setup Command installs local hooks for Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf when you copy and run it yourself. Those hooks open Markdown the tools write in the existing Aero Markdown window, in the background.
Codex is not included in these hooks. Its changes to an already open file can still be detected by automatic reload; new files must be opened separately.
The step-by-step agent guide explains that boundary and where to find the command. You do not need to install a hook to use the reader.
The file remains the source
A rendered page can make a report easier to follow, but it does not verify the report’s claims. Review the evidence, code references, and conclusions as you would in any other document.
Opening and rendering do not rewrite the source. Editing is available when you need it, and Save writes the open file. Files stay on your Mac, and nothing in a document is sent to a service by Aero Markdown.
